WATERLOO BECOMES THE FIRST RECIPIENT OF THE TTFF ‘F’ LICENSE COACHING COURSEI

TTFF Technical Director, Lincoln Phillips and his technical staff journeyed to Waterloo Secondary School on Saturday 19th September 21, 2009 to meet with Parents of Waterloo Institute of Soccer Players and to conduct the inaugural TTFF ‘F’ License Coaching Course.

20 Parents were enrolled and were given the TTFF ‘F’ License Training Manual. The Classroom session tutored by Mr. Phillips stressed on the role of the ‘winning’ parent as the foundation for the child’s development. Parents were advised to chat with the Coach on the child performance and to encourage the child to compete against his or herself to improve technique.

WISP President, Stephen Bartholomew indicated that the request was made to the TTFF as part of the group strategic plan to support the introduction of WISP Elite Player Development Program. He continued, parents must be educated to encourage the child at home to practice the drills.

Field training was done by Coach Muhammad Isa and parents were exposed to basic technical drills such as warm-up exercises, passing and receiving, dribbling, turning and small sided games.

In closing, Mr. Lincoln Phillip thanked WISP and encouraged Coaching Schools and Clubs registered with their Zones to contact the TTFF for the ‘F’ License Course. He explained the TTFF ‘F” License is a one day course for parents and continued that with the T & T Coaches Association in operation soon, the ‘F’ License holders will also become members and will be eligible to move on to the ‘D’ License and upwards.
