WATERLOO ONE DAY WOMEN'S FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

HIGHLIGHTS AND RESULTS

Waterloo Starlets U-15 emerged winners of the 2nd Annual Waterloo Invitational One day Women Open Invitational Football Tournament held on Saturday June 13th 2009 at Waterloo High School Grounds.

Waterloo Starlets U-15’s started their quest by defeating Ralph Coaching 1:0 with a goal from profilic striker, Zoe Swift.

They continued their winning streak by getting pass Crown Trace United 2:1 with goals from Striking pair Zoe Swift and Rhonique Alexander.

Their Final match was against Waterloo Starlets senior team and surprisingly they won that match 2:0 with goals again from Zoe Swift and Rhonique Alexander.

Placing 2nd was Waterloo Starlets Senior Team who after a nil-nil scoreline against Crown Trace United won 2:0 from kicks from the penalty mark. They also draw 1all with Ralph Coaching School but won 3:1 from kicks from the penalty spot.

Placing 3rd was Ralph Coaching School who got pass Crown Trace United 1:0 with goal from young talented player, Chelcy Ralph.

Trophies and medals sponsored by Hakim Hosein General Contractors were presented to the players by TTFF head coach of the Legacy U-15 girls program, Mr. Marlon Charles was on hand to evaluate players for the Legacy Program.

WISP President, Stephen Bartholomew was in high praises for the Waterloo Starlets U-15 girls and for Mr. Marlon Charles who braved the inclement weather to scout for talented players. He also expressed disappointment for Petrotrn Fyzabad from the south and Trincity Nationals from the east not attending the tournament.

Last year’s winner was also Waterloo Starlets who defeated the Canadian International School into 2nd place. Petrotrin Fyzabad was third with Mayaro Spurs in cellar place.
